JAMA Network Journals of the American Medical Association offer a range of reprints and permissions services for authors, readers, writers and commercial companies. Permissions for individual article content use may be obtained through the Copyright Clearance Center (RightsLink). Please see below for more information on these and other services, such as JAMA Network Backfile access and the purchasing of back issues.

Author Reprints

Published authors may acquire reprints and e-prints for their personal use such as in classroom teaching or to share with a research colleague. Author reprints are not for commercial purposes or bulk distribution.

Special discounted rates apply to authors of any JAMA Network Journal articles.

Bulk purchase of single articles, as well as collections of articles from a single issue or several issues of any AMA publication, are available in both paper and electronic formats. You may e-mail or phone your reprint request.

Permissions Requests

Using Permissions Tool on Article Page

Permissions can be requested directly from each individual journal article page. Just click the "Get Permissions" link in content toolbox, located in the upper right corner of the screen.

Materials published in print or online in AMA Publications are owned and copyrighted by the AMA and may not be reproduced in any form without written permission from the publisher.

Articles are available for reprint purchase on the day of publication online or in print.

Reprints are printed on high-quality semi-gloss paper for greater visual impact and durability.

Reprints are available in black/white or full-color, both come with the JAMA Network standard 2-color self-cover.

Standard reprint delivery is 15-20 business days from receipt of PO and proof approval. Rush delivery is available, contact an Account Manager to discuss your specific needs.

Q: Is there a minimum quantity required for reprints?
A: You may buy reprints or e-prints in any quantity to meet your needs. However, a minimum quantity of 25 reprints is necessary for bulk orders. Please call for other options.

Q: Are there translation options for reprint orders?
A: Yes, reprints and e-prints may be translated to the language of your choice. Many articles are already available in multiple languages. Contact reprints@jamanetwork.org to inquire about availability.

Q: Does multimedia require a separate reprint request?
A: Multimedia and online-only material are available as part of your reprint and e-print purchase. Contact reprints@jamanetwork.org with requests or for more information.

Q: How do I obtain individual permissions on content within the JAMA Network?
A: Requests for reuse/republication of any article content (tables/figures/selected text) can be requested via RightsLink, simply click on the Permissions link next to the selected article.

Q: How do I obtain a complete issue of a journal within the JAMA Network?
A: Please contact AMA Customer Service to purchase or replace a complete issue of any of our journals:
